I am not who I was—
even the shadows remember differently.
The echo of a former self rings
like bone chimes in ancestral wind,
but she no longer answers.
I move in pulses now—
not forward or back,
but through.
Change rides my spine like a drumbeat:
break the mold,
bend the bloodline,
birth a future from the marrow.
